Stakeholder permissions/limitations in Azure DevOps
Though Stakeholder access is free, there are some limitations to any user with a stakeholder access eventhough they would be able to create/edit workitems, view dashboards and manage/build release pipelines.Let us see what are these limitations when a stakeholder has access to a private project.
Features not available for Stakeholders in Workitems
- Can’t add new workitem tags
- Won’t be able to delete workitems
- Won’t be able to move workitems to another project
Features not available for Stakeholders in Boards & Sprints
- Won’t be able to change the priority of an item within a backlog
- No drag and drop functionality for the stakeholder in sprints and backlogs
- In Taskboard Except state field, a stakeholder can’t change any other field
- Won’t be able to set or view team capacity
- Won’t be able to add tasks in Sprint backlog
Features not available for Stakeholders in Queries
- Won’t be able to create or edit shared queries
- Won’t be able to create or view query charts
Features not available for Stakeholders in Azure pipelines
- View Release pipelines
- Create/Edit Build pipelines
- Create/Edit Release pipelines
- Queue Builds
- Create/Edit Task groups
- Administer/Manager Build/Release permissions
- Manage Build/Release queues
